How did we lose that game?
Man, the recent game between UCF and Baylor was a rollercoaster! We were all on the edge of our seats, thinking we had this in the bag, but then the unexpected happened. The reactions and emotions from the fans and community were intense, and it got me thinking, what does it really mean to be a Knights-Fan?
The stadium was electric! We scored on our 1st play! 79 yards! And we scored in our next couple of drives. In the 1st quarter, we were up 21-0. The stadium was loud and we were bouncing. This mostly kept up through the start of the 3rd quarter.
But as they started their comeback, it felt like something in the air changed. Then we fumbled and they scoped and scored and it felt like the dam broke. The stadium got quiet and it felt like it was slipping through our hands. And when they kicked their last field goal it felt like a dagger was inserted into all UCF fans. We were in disbelief. Check out all the details here.
Negativity All Around
The aftermath? A whirlwind of negativity on social media. The disappointment and frustration were palpable. The criticism towards the coaches, players, and the students who left early was overwhelming. It was a harsh reminder of the emotional rollercoaster that comes with being a devoted fan.
In the last drive when we were trying to drive for the game-winning TD/field goal and Timmy was struggling, I heard someone say “You aren’t in USF anymore, you don’t have to suck anymore.” That is the same time everyone started booing him. And that’s when I knew the stadium had turned on him. When he needed us the most, we weren’t there for him.
How I Became a Knights-Fan
UCF is more than just my alma mater; it’s a pivotal part of my life journey. It was my sanctuary, my learning hub, and it’s where I grew and matured. After a rocky start and a brief break, I came back, finished my degree, and since then, it’s been all about black and gold. My passion for UCF even led me to open a shop, the Knights Fan Shop, dedicated to UCF fan merchandise, showcasing the profound impact this institution has on me.
We are DripU for our players, but what about our fans? I am a decent artist and have skills to do digital art. So why not mix both? It has just started and we have some good feedback on some of the art. Let me know your thoughts we are always open for feedback and criticism.
Being A True Knights-Fan
Being a true Knights-Fan is not just about the victories; it’s about unwavering support for our team, no matter what. It’s about being a pillar of strength and support for our players, helping them grow and succeed, both on and off the field. It’s about staying true to our colors, even when the going gets tough.
Knights-Fan: An enthusiastic devotee of UCF sports regardless of outcome
-Knights Fan Shop
Because I am not a bandwagon. I am not a fan of a school because I “live in that” state. I am a Knights-Fan because I bleed black and gold! I am a Knight! I graduated here and nothing that happens on or off the field will ever change that!
Other fans/fan bases cannot say this. How many Alabama fans don’t have anything to do with the University of Alabama. Knights-Fans are not like that, we bleed black and gold.
This Loss Sucks For a Knights-Fan But We Will Learn
This loss was a tough pill to swallow, but it served as a reminder of the importance of resilience, perseverance, and relentless effort. It’s a lesson in enduring hardship and emerging stronger, wiser, and more determined. It teaches us to keep pushing forward, to never give up, and to remember that the mind often surrenders before the body does.
UCF’s future is set for success! We will continue to grow in sports and as an institution. We will win a BIG XII championship. We will keep recruiting good, because who doesn’t want to go to college in Orlando! So this is just a bump in the road of big successes for UCF.
Winning college football games are not easy and everyone knows that, but it takes dedication and growth, and just like Lee Hunter said “We got dogs” in all levels of this. Coach Gus is a winner and he will keep battling, Terry, Director of Athletics, is also a winner and he will keep pushing UCF to the stratosphere!
A Knights-Fan Conclusion
My commitment as a Knights-Fan is steadfast, and I will continue to support our team through thick and thin. I encourage my fellow fans to join me in fostering a sense of unity and support, to be the strength our team needs in times of adversity, and to always “Charge On!”
Charge On, keep being a UCF fan, through thick and thin, keep charging on! We aren’t perfect, and we cannot expect our football team, coaches, or fans to be. This is football, this is life, we all have ups and downs, but I don’t think we should let the outcome be the determination factor of our actions. Regardless of the outcome, we should grow, learn, and keep moving forward.
As the founder of the Knights Fan Shop, my mission is to amplify fanhood and promote the UCF brand as we step into the BIG XII. I aspire to partner with UCF directly to craft official designs and to build a community of true Knights-Fans. Let’s work hard, keep our promises, and charge on with the Knight spirit, celebrating our team and our institution with pride and joy.

I wish every fan who entered our stadium would read this first!
Well done
